Fairfield, NJ – Kyocera Document Solutions America, Inc. is delighted to celebrate 50 years in proud partnership with American businesses, recognizing half a century since the organization began its operations on U.S. soil.
With roots in the U.S. that date back to 1973, Kyocera Document Solutions America, Inc. has grown to become a pioneering enterprise with a community of over 1,300 employees, almost 500 dealer partners, and regional offices and distribution centers located across the U.S.
“This is a historic milestone for our organization,” says Óscar Sánchez, President & CEO of Kyocera Document Solutions America, Inc. “Over the last 50 years we have earned the reputation as a trusted partner of American businesses, a partner that goes above and beyond to create new business value and drive growth. Our 50th anniversary is the perfect occasion to reflect on our proud past and use it as the foundation for future success.”
The story of Kyocera Document Solutions in the U.S. began with Mita Copystar America, Inc., which was founded on April 1, 1973. The manufacturer of analog and digital photocopiers and printers moved into its avant-garde Fairfield, N.J., headquarters in 1992 with fewer than 50 employees located at the new base of operations. This building remains the headquarters for Kyocera Document Solutions America, Inc. today.
We’ve earned the reputation as a trusted partner of American businesses.”
In January 2000, Mita Copystar America officially joined Kyocera Corporation as a subsidiary and was renamed Kyocera Mita America, Inc. In April 2012, Kyocera Mita America subsequently changed its name to Kyocera Document Solutions America, Inc. Seven years later, in 2019, the organization launched its new brand identity with updated logo and visual identity, a move that once again highlighted the culture of continuous innovation that has driven Kyocera to become one of the world’s preeminent manufacturers of document imaging solutions.
The culture of innovation stems directly from the philosophies of Kyocera founder Dr. Kazuo Inamori. “No matter how large our company may become, we must remain visionary, passionate pioneers,” he once said. Today, Kyocera Document Solutions America, Inc. continues to stay true to the words of Dr. Inamori, as reflected in its comprehensive lineup of solutions and services that meets the changing needs of professionals in a new, digital-first age of work, as well as businesses in the production print market.
Now, as Kyocera Document Solutions America, Inc. celebrates its 50th anniversary and its journey to becoming an industry leader in enabling businesses to turn information into valuable knowledge, it looks forward to a future of continued innovation and growth with dealers, customers, employees, and other stakeholders.
“The diversity of our storied organization makes me extremely proud to be a part of the Kyocera family – the blend of backgrounds, experience, ideas, knowledge, and technologies means we are ready to further strengthen our position in proven and trusted partnership with American businesses,” concludes Sánchez.
Kyocera Document Solutions America, Inc. plans to commemorate this landmark occasion with celebrations that will highlight the memorable moments, success stories, and partnerships that have endured decades here in the United States.
Kyocera is primed to reach new heights with its partners as it embarks on its sixth decade of business in the U.S.
